Nickel Alloys Alloy 20 Fasteners Overview
Zeon Exports supplies Nickel Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) fasteners – bolts, nuts and studs – a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with copper and molybdenum additions developed for maximum resistance to sulfuric acid, for chemical and food processing bolted joints.
Nickel Alloy 20 Fasteners secure bolted connections in sulfuric acid and other aggressive chemical process piping and equipment. Its nickel-iron-chromium base with copper and molybdenum gives outstanding resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric and nitric acids, while niobium stabilization prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion after welding.
- Niobium-stabilized against sensitization and weld-zone corrosion
- Tensile ≥551 MPa, yield ≥241 MPa in the annealed condition
- EN 10204 3.1 certified, export-ready worldwide

Corrosion Resistance of Nickel Alloy 20
- Nickel Alloy 20 Fasteners were developed specifically for maximum resistance to sulfuric acid across a wide range of concentrations and temperatures.
- Acid resistance: copper and molybdenum give dual-mechanism protection against sulfuric acid attack.
- Pitting and crevice resistance: performs well in chloride-bearing and oxidizing salt environments.
- Weld-zone resistance: niobium stabilization prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion after welding.
Heat Resistance of Nickel Alloy 20
Nickel Alloy 20 fasteners have good mechanical properties at both ambient and moderately elevated temperatures, but are generally not selected for high-temperature structural service. Confirm exact service limits against the governing standard and application before specifying.
Key Properties of Nickel Alloys Alloy 20 Fasteners
Beyond corrosion and heat performance, Alloy 20 fasteners offer these additional properties.
- Readily fabricable, well suited to chemical processing equipment
- Good weldability without post-weld sensitization risk
- Good strength and toughness at ambient temperatures
- Widely used across chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing
